Bowen Therapy is a technique that was developed to give relief to many health concerns. It is a gentle non-invasive technique that enables the client to relax and thus the body is able to re-align and begin the process of healing. It is so gentle it can be used on the elderly and if the client is unable to lie on a table then it can be done sitting in a chair for the client’s comfort. The small gentle moves made by the practitioner over the muscles send signals to the body that something is out of alignment and the body adjusts itself. This is why there is a wait time between moves somewhat like the busy signal on your computer.
The Bowen Technique addresses the entire body, by restoring balance.
Most people today operate in a constant state of stress, this allows toxins to build up, creating high levels of cortisol, this then interrupts sleep and the body doesn’t get the rest it needs to repair whilst sleeping.
Apart from the highly beneficial aspects of relaxation, Bowen Therapy also addresses many other conditions such as:
After a treatment, it can feel like a bit of muscle fatigue, or sometimes the issue feels worse for a day or 2. This is normal, if you think about how long your body has been compensating for malalignment then it might be a little bit uncomfortable to be back in the right place. The general rule of thumb is 48 hours. No other treatments should be applied for 5 days; this gives the body time to make any necessary adjustments.
Most times it is necessary for 2-3 treatments for full benefit depending on how
long the condition has existed.
